Torrent description
"The Crimson Idol" is maybe the pinnacle in Blackie's songwriting career. It was his first concept album that was later on tried again in the form of two album release "The Neon God". "Crimson" is critically acclaimed masterpiece that tells the story of Jonathan. It was supposed to be Blackie's solo album, but even though all other original members (Chris Holmes) were long gone he wanted to keep the title under W.A.S.P. name. The new players were Bob Kulick in lead guitar, Frankie Banali and Stet Howland in drums.
Standout tracks: There are too many... "The Titanic Overture", "The Invisible Boy" and "The Idol" for example.
Sidenote: Pete Townsend was Blackie's ispiration and true mentor during writing this album. Still, Jonathan seems like a resembled image of Blackie himself.
2CD special version with 13 bonus tracks: in disc one there is "The Story of Jonathan" an over 16 min prologue originally a single b-side. In disc two there are two new studio tracks, one Led Zeppelin cover, two live acoustic tracks, and seven live tracks recorded in Donington '92.
